Peppershade, also known as stipple or whipshade, is a technique used to create grainy shading. The needles (also possible with single needles) bounce over the skin at increasingly larger intervals, resulting in a dotted gradient from light to dark. Pepper shading can be used for both coarse and fine tattoos.
