The snug piercing belongs to the family of ear cartilage piercings and is placed horizontally in the larger cartilage fold, the anti-helix.
According to the online magazine BMEzine, the Snug piercing owes its name to Caitlin Theobald, the partner of the former owner of the fashion brand Snug Industries.
