The Frowny piercing (also known as the anti-smiley piercing) is a very personal piercing, as it remains hidden for most of its existence. This is because it is placed on the lower labial frenulum - the frenulum labii inferioris.
Even though the lower and upper lip ligaments are rather thin, they are still very stable and are therefore well suited for piercing.
