More and more women and men are having a dermal anchor inserted to decorate their face or body with this aesthetic piercing. Dermal anchors are particularly popular on the décolleté, hands, fingers and neck as well as on the face.
A dermal anchor (also known as a skinplate, microdermal or skin anchor) is a small jewelry implant, so to speak.
A titanium plate with small holes is inserted under the skin, where it then fuses with the tissue and literally anchors itself. The thread of the dermal is visible between the skin, which makes it possible to wear various attachments.
The main difference to a conventional piercing is that a dermal anchor only has one exit point and therefore - like skin divers - belongs to the group of single point piercings.
Dermal anchors are also often used in combination with a tattoo. This allows you to
focus on individual areas and give the artwork a completely new effect (for example as the eye of a tiger).
Another option is to use several dermal anchors next to each other to create different motifs such as stars, hearts, crosses etc. on the skin.
