The Dahlia Bites piercing (sometimes also called the Joker Smile) consists of 2 individual labret piercings, which are placed to the right and left of the corners of the mouth.
The Dahlia Bites piercing owes its name to a crime that took place in Los Angeles in 1947 (Black Dahlia Murder). The smile of the victim (Elizabeth Short - known as Black Dahlia) is strongly reminiscent of a Dahlia Bites piercing.
