Piercing FAQ
Why should cartilage piercings be pierced with a needle and not shot with an ear piercing gun?
Long story short - a piercing needle should generally take precedence over an ear piercing gun - not just for cartilage piercings.
An ear stud is shot with force using the ear piercing gun - a firing device that works with a powerful spring.
The cartilage tissue would be literally shattered, in other words it would burst.
Healing can be negatively affected by this procedure and some pierced ear holes become inflamed again and again.
