Tattoo FAQ

What health issues should I be aware of before getting a tattoo?

There are various health problems that can make it difficult to get a tattoo.

This affects, for example, people who suffer from severe skin problems such as acne, neurodermatitis or psoriasis. Patients who have to take blood-thinning medication due to heart disease, for example, cannot be tattooed without further ado. Of course, this also applies to haemophiliacs, who naturally have poor blood clotting.

People who have poor wound healing due to illnesses such as diabetes or suffer from an immune deficiency due to a hepatitis or HIV infection must also expect poor wound healing or an increased risk of infection.

It is not possible to give a recommendation here, as with many illnesses it depends on the severity of the clinical picture and the individual's constitution as to whether a tattoo session is possible without any problems or not. Anyone with health problems should always consult their doctor to weigh up the possible risks.
