Piercing FAQ

What are the advantages and disadvantages of gold piercing jewelry?

White or yellow gold must be properly alloyed so that it is compatible. Only 18-carat gold, also known as 750 gold, is suitable for initial use. The residual alloys contained in the gold must be biocompatible. Nevertheless, gold jewelry can lead to allergic reactions or inflammation.

Gold jewelry with 375 or 585 proportions of gold can also be recognized by the stamp, but
not nearly as high quality as 750 gold.

For initial use, sterilized jewelry with a nickel content of less than 0.05 % of the total mass should always be used, as required by law.
