Piercing FAQ
Will the pierced canal (piercing hole) grow back?
In general, it can be said that every piercing hole will grow back. However, there are several different factors that influence the duration of this process:
Has the piercing healed completely?
The overgrowth of a piercing channel that has been in place for years takes considerably longer than with a freshly pierced piercing.
Has the canal been irritated (inflamed)?
If a piercing has often been irritated or inflamed, the waxing process is slower.
Where is the piercing located?
All cartilage piercings, for example nose, helix or tragus, grow back less quickly than other piercings.
In general, you should only remove a piercing for a longer period of time if you no longer want to wear it. This is because the stitch channel is kept open by the piercing and would immediately begin to contract as soon as the jewelry is removed.
When a piercing is completely overgrown, you can usually see nothing more than a small spot that is comparable to an open pore.
