Piercing FAQ

Can I get a tattoo or piercing if I am HIV-positive?

An HIV infection does not fundamentally rule out a tattoo and/or piercing. However, if the number of helper cells is low, the immune system is weakened. There is an increased risk of skin infection and wound healing may be impaired. Especially if the wound area is very large, it can result in poor healing. It is important to ask your doctor for his opinion.

If you are HIV-positive and would like to have a tattoo and/or piercing, please inform us before the treatment in the declaration of consent. The 2nd Skin member artists are free to decide for or against a treatment and are not subject to any treatment obligation.
