Tattoo FAQ
Can I do sports after a tattoo?
Athletes don't have it easy when they want to get a tattoo. This is because, during the healing phase, you should avoid disruptive influences such as heavy sweating, excessive exercise and/or being "bumped into" by fellow athletes.
If the scab (crust), which forms a few days after tattooing, is softened by heavy sweating or scraped off for any reason, this has an unfavorable effect on the quality of the tattoo.
The solution
It is best if the tattoo appointment is arranged before a training break to allow the tattoo to heal in peace.
If you still have to exercise, you have no choice but to protect the tattooed area as much as possible and at least not shower for too long after exercise to avoid softening the scab.
If the tattoo is damaged during the healing phase, tattoos that have not healed properly may have to be re-stitched.
