Unfortunately, the human body can have an allergic reaction to an almost unlimited number of substances such as grass pollen, peanuts, nickel, latex and many more. As a result, allergic reactions to tattoo inks cannot be ruled out. In practice, however, such reactions are extremely rare.

In exceptional cases, allergies were caused by tattoo dyes found in red and yellow tattoo ink. Nowadays, high-quality tattoo inks are tested for possible allergenic substances.
