Veena

My name is Veena and I am originally from Mumbai (India).

When I first came into contact with henna as a child, I immediately fell in love with it.

I was always allowed to paint henna tattoos on my cousins at our family parties, so I soon had some practice and got better and better at it.

When I came to Switzerland, henna tattoos were just a hobby for me. But I often liked to wear henna tattoos myself. One day, a Female approached me and asked where I had had it done. I painted it on myself, of course - and that's how I got my first job as a henna artist.

I have been a professional henna artist since 2020 and am also a dance teacher in my spare time.
Applying henna is pure meditation for me! I don't get tired doing it either - it's not work for me, it's pure passion.

With my work, I want to give people a part of India - my culture - and give them the lightness and joie de vivre of my country for a while.
